Again, the only cheap flights to Italy from Ireland that I could find were on the Belfast to Pisa service, and the cheapest ones were in mid-week. The previous year, I'd topped and tailed a stay in Umbria from Saturday to Saturday (the usual rental period) by spending a few days in hotels, at the start in Pisa and at the end in Lucca.

This time, I negotiated a Wednesday to Wednesday stay in a rented apartment in Chianni in Tuscany, which meant I didn't have the long drive to my holiday home. Chianni is just 40 minutes from Pisa airport.
