Holiday!
For 2011, I browsed the cheap flights and decided to use the Aer Lingus
service between Belfast and Rome. Normally, self-catering accommodation
runs from Saturday to Saturday, and there were flights on those days,
but the Saturday flight out arrived in Rome far too late to travel
onwards.
I decided to take the Tuesday flight instead, and amuse myself in Rome
for four days before heading up country.
Here's my tour diary:
Pyramid, piazza and pizza. Ostia Antica.
Train to Chiusi. Car to Trasimeno. Citta della Pieve and Orvieto. Castiglione del Lago.
Perugia and its Minimetro. Spello and Assisi. Isola Polvese in Lake Trasimeno.
"Notte Bianca" in Castiglione del Lago. "Mercato delle Gaite" in Bevagna
